Chelsea Rebrand Youth Teams to "Cobham Next Gen"

  • Rebrand Announcement: Chelsea Football Club has officially rebranded its Under-21 and Under-19 academy squads to "Cobham Next Gen" (CNG) ahead of the 26-27 season.
  • Squads Affected: The rebrand specifically targets the Under-21 and Under-19 development squads, which will now operate under the new moniker across club media and communications.
  • Rationale for Change: The rebrand aims to better reflect the younger average age of the players within these squads and establish a direct, unified development pathway for talent at their Cobham training base.

Chelsea Football Club has announced an unconventional rebrand of their academy structure ahead of the 26-27 season, renaming their Under-21 and Under-19 squads as Cobham Next Gen (CNG).

Chelsea Rebrands U21 and U19 Squads to 'Cobham Next Gen'

Under the leadership of head coach Harry Hudson, the development squad will operate under the new moniker across club media and communications. According to Chelsea, the rebrand is designed to better reflect the squad's actual demographic, where the average player age is closer to Under-18 level, with several 16- and 17-year-olds regularly featuring. The club views the setup as a direct, unified springboard for developing talent at their Cobham training base before making the jump to senior football.

Despite the cosmetic name change, the teams will remain officially registered as Chelsea in competitive tournaments such as Premier League 2 and European youth competitions.

Nottingham Forest Announce Marex Front-of-Shirt Sponsorship Deal

Nottingham Forest have officially announced a multi-year Principal Partnership with global financial services platform Marex. Starting with the 26-27 season, Marex will serve as the club's new front-of-shirt sponsor, replacing gambling brand Bally's. The agreement is reported to be worth approximately £25 million over a three-year period.

The clean Marex wordmark and arrow logo will be featured across the front of the Nottingham Forest men's and women's first-team playing and replica kits, as well as the club's netball team dresses. In addition to primary kit placement, Marex will become Forest's official Global Markets Partner and exclusive provider of foreign exchange and financial services.

The announcement resolves Forest's search for a principal partner just ahead of the new Premier League campaign, following a pre-season without a front-of-shirt sponsor. The transition also aligns with the Premier League's upcoming voluntary ban on gambling companies occupying front-of-shirt sponsorship inventory.
