Hannover 96 and technical sponsor Macron have officially unveiled a commemorative special shirt celebrating the 80th anniversary of Hannover being named the state capital of Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen). The bespoke release pays tribute to the club's hometown and the shared history between the team and the city.
The Hannover 96 2026-27 special kit will make its on-pitch debut on 1 November 2026 during the 2. Bundesliga match against Dynamo Dresden, exactly 80 years to the day since Hannover became the capital of the newly founded state of Lower Saxony.

This is the new Macron Hannover 96 2026-27 special jersey.
The Macron Hannover 96 26-27 special shirt is decked out in Hannover's official city colours of red and white, showcasing a distinct half-and-half design on the front. Spanning both the front and back of the jersey is a subtle, sublimated all-over pattern composed of repeating municipal coat-of-arms crests.
At the core of the design sits an embroidered city coat of arms centrally placed on the chest. Designed in close collaboration with the city administration, the emblem includes the "Hannover" inscription and a black-white-green flag inspired by a historic crest Hannover 96 carried around 1946.
Directly beneath it, large "Landeshauptstadt Hannover" lettering takes over the main chest space, while the same slogan is stitched tonally around both sleeve cuffs.
Macron has added several tailored jubilee details into the trim of the shirt. The back collar features the geographic outline of Lower Saxony framing the number 80. The state silhouette appears once more on the interior silicone waistband at the bottom hem, joined by another "Landeshauptstadt Hannover" script.
The new Hannover 26-27 special kit is available from 15 October 2026.
