FC Nantes were forced to debut an emergency all-white kit for their Ligue 2 match against AS Saint-Étienne on Saturday night. The unexpected kit choice came after neither Nantes' standard yellow home strip nor their dark away kit was approved for the match by the French refereeing body (Direction de l'Arbitrage) and the LFP, citing color contrast issues against Saint-Étienne's traditional green shirts.
Supplied by Macron , the impromptu kit features a clean white base paired with monochrome black branding for both the technical supplier and the FC Nantes crest. The jersey retains the club's regular sponsors, with Synergie across the front and Hellfest above the player name on the upper back, complemented by matching white shorts and white socks.
Color clashes with Saint-Étienne often pose a tricky challenge for visiting teams, but the refusal of both primary options forced Nantes into preparing this off-catalog solution on short notice. The bespoke look provided a stark, monochrome departure from the club's traditional yellow and green identity under the lights at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
