2026 World Cup Kits Feature Special Player Patches for Debutants, Golden Boot + Golden Glove Winners & "World Cup Legends"

  • Commemorative Patch: A special "FIFA Commemorative Patch" will be added to the right sleeve of the kit at the 2026 World Cup, positioned under the tournament badge.
  • Patch Eligibility: The commemorative patch is reserved for players making their World Cup debut and previous Ballon d'Or, Golden Boot, and Golden Glove winners.
  • World Champion Badge: Nations that have previously won the World Cup will wear a gold version of the 2026 tournament badge.

Update - Friday, June 12, 2026: The match between South Korea and the Czech Republic gave fans another close look at the brand-new 'FIFA World Cup Debut' patch that will be used at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Update - Thursday, June 11, 2026: The 2026 World Cup debut patch has been revealed in the opening match of the tournament. The special 2026 World Cup debut patch features the iconic World Cup trophy alongside the lettering "DEBUT FIFA WORLD CUP" and is worn on the sleeve by players making their first-ever appearance at a World Cup. The patch was spotted during the opening game between Mexico and South Africa, sitting on the right (South Africa)/left (Mexico - likely by error) sleeve. Thanks to Jersey Story for the image (AI-upscaled badge).

The 2026 World Cup debut patch is a brand-new innovation by FIFA, celebrating the personal milestone of a player's first World Cup appearance directly on the kit. The gold-trimmed badge creates a unique collector's detail on the match-worn shirts of the tournament in the USA, Mexico and Canada, making every debut shirt instantly recognizable and even more special. There will also be special badges for Golden Boot, Golden Glove & "Legends" (players with their at least fifth World Cup).

Leaked: 2026 World Cup Kits to Feature Special Commemorative Player Patches

This new patch will not be worn by every squad member. According to our leaked information, it is strictly reserved for specific individuals. Players making their official World Cup debut will receive the patch. It will also be worn by previous Ballon d'Or, Golden Boot, and Golden Glove winners.

The leaked manual also confirms the special badge detail for former world champions. Nations that have previously won the World Cup will wear a gold version of the 2026 tournament badge. All other participating nations will wear the standard version.

Here is a quick breakdown of the high-profile players who will wear the special commemorative patch at the 2026 World Cup:

  • Previous Golden Boot Winners: Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane, James Rodríguez.
  • Previous Golden Glove Winners: Emiliano Martínez, Thibaut Courtois.
  • World Cup Debutants: Global stars making their first tournament appearance, such as Erling Haaland, Lamine Yamal, Florian Wirtz, Victor Osimhen, and Endrick.
  • Legends: Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Manuel Neuer.

The left sleeve will feature rotating badges, different in each round.

PSIS Semarang 26-27 Home Kit Released

Indonesian club PSIS Semarang and returning technical sponsor Riors have officially launched their new home kit for the 26-27 season. The release marks the resumption of the partnership between the brand and the Semarang-based club, following Riors' previous spell outfitting the team from 2017 to 2024.

The PSIS Semarang 26-27 home jersey features the club's traditional blue as its base color, enriched by a striking, detailed mythical beast illustration across the front torso. Contrasting vibrant red details highlight the V-neck collar insert, the sleeve cuff trims, and the side hem vents. The monochromatic treatment extends to the chest, where both the Riors logo and the PSIS crest with its championship star are rendered in vivid red.

Emiliano Martinez Takes Chelsea's Number 1 Shirt

Emi Martinez has officially switched from No. 26 to No. 1 at Chelsea after just one match. The Argentine goalkeeper wore No. 26 in Chelsea's 4-3 win over Brighton.

With Robert Sanchez joining Como on loan, the No. 1 shirt became available, allowing Martínez to make the switch. Chelsea is now the third professional club where Martinez has worn No. 1, following Getafe and Aston Villa.

In a nice gesture to supporters who had already purchased his previous shirt, Martinez will sign all official “Martinez 26” jerseys bought through Chelsea's Megastore or official website. Fans can bring their shirt and proof of purchase to Stamford Bridge before October 4.

Leicester City 26-27 Away Retro Collection Released

Expanding on their retro-inspired aesthetic for the season, Leicester City and Adidas have officially dropped a new lifestyle apparel collection under the Adidas Originals banner. Following the popular launch of their Trefoil away shirt earlier this summer, the latest range focuses on timeless club heritage infused with classic Three Stripes street style.

The standout piece of the collection is a royal blue long-sleeve jersey adorned with an intricate all-over diagonal jacquard pattern. Much like the 26-27 away kit, the piece prominently features the iconic Adidas Trefoil alongside Leicester's nostalgic 'Running Fox' crest, which famously adorned the club's shirts until 1992. Matching royal blue three stripes run down the shoulders and sleeves to complete the vintage look.

Alongside the long-sleeve shirt, the collection includes an archival blue t-shirt with a bold white chest stripe, classic track jackets, hoodies, and matching track pants. The full Leicester City x Adidas Originals range is available now at the club's official online store and the Foxes Fanstore at King Power Stadium.
