LEAKED: New Manchester City 17-18 Kit Details

We have received more details on the upcoming Manchester City 17-18 kit. Made by Nike and once again featuring Etihad Airways as sponsor, the Manchester City 2017-18 home kit will feature red for the first time in more than five years and will return to white shorts (new info).

It will also have Nexen Tire's logo on the sleeves after the club became the first Premier League team to sign a sleeve sponsorship deal.

This image shows the colors used in the Nike Manchester City 2017-2018 jersey.

While it will feature red detailing, the Manchester City 17-18 shirt will still be predominantly sky blue. The blue base of the Manchester City 2017-2018 kit will be combined with white and, more unusually maroon.

Maroon is a color that has been used through many Manchester City kits in the past, most notably in the form of the famous 1956 FA Cup winning jersey, which was the change jersey that season. Umbro released a throwback to that specific kit in the form of the 2012-13 Manchester City away kit, to give another example.

However, the Manchester City 2017-18 kit will be one of the first in the club's history to feature maroon on the shirt. Until now, the color was mostly used as trim on the socks, most recently with the 2010-11 Manchester City home kit by Umbro. Last but not least, navy will be used for the Nike and Etihad logos on the new Manchester City kit for the 2017-18 season.

Template-wise, the Manchester City 2017-2018 home kit will be based on a slightly updated edition of Nike's Vapor template.

Interestingly, the new Manchester City 17-18 home kit returns to white shorts. The socks will be sky blue.

The Manchester City 17-18 shirt is expected to be released in early July 2017.
