Karlsruhe Copies Popular Augsburg Kit
- Kit Resemblance: Karlsruher SC's 26-27 third kit significantly resembles FC Augsburg's popular 24-25 third shirt, released two years prior.
- Shared Design Elements: Both jerseys utilize a distinctive, full-body embossed grid pattern filled with intricate historical motifs to pay tribute to their respective cities' heritage, featuring local symbols for KSC and ancient Roman artifacts for Augsburg.
- Commercial Success and Influence: FC Augsburg's 'Roman' kit was a massive commercial hit, becoming the fastest-selling shirt in the club's history, bringing a proven fan-favorite style to Karlsruher SC's new kit.
Two years after FC Augsburg and Mizuno released their incredibly popular 24-25 third shirt, Karlsruher SC has unveiled a 26-27 third kit that shares a striking visual resemblance. Both jerseys of the German teams rely on a distinctive, full-body embossed grid pattern filled with intricate historical motifs to pay tribute to the heritage of their respective cities.
Karlsruher SC 26-27 Third Kit Mirrors Augsburg's 24-25 Roman Kit
Karlsruher SC's 26-27 third kit, produced by Macron, features a shiny gold and beige base with an embossed grid highlighting local symbols, including the Quadriga. Augsburg’s 24-25 “Roman” kit utilized a similar grid design to display ancient Roman artifacts.
The color palettes also share common ground: KSC features deep burgundy red collar and cuff accents on a gold base, whereas Augsburg used gold logos and trim on a deep bordeaux red shirt. The collar is also similar.
Augsburg’s Roman kit was a massive commercial hit, becoming the fastest-selling shirt in the club's history. By executing the same premium, embossed storytelling approach, Karlsruher SC's 26-27 third kit brings a proven, fan-favorite style to the 2. Bundesliga.
