Barcelona To Sign Record-Breaking Qatar Airways Shirt Sponsorship Deal

Barcelona is set to renew the Qatar Airways shirt sponsorship deal for four more years until 2020. According to Mundo Deportivo, always well-informed in all things FC Barcelona, the new Qatar Airways sponsorship deal would be worth 60m euros / season, only behind Manchester United's Chevrolet sponsorship.

Ahead of resigning from their posts to clear the path for brought-forward elections, the Barcelona board members have been busy in the last days, announcing renewals with Luís Enrique, Dani Alves and Jordi Alba, as well as the transfer of Sevilla's Aleix Vidal.

Barcelona To Renew Qatar Airways Sponsorship

FC Barcelona and Qatar Airways reached an agreement over a renewal of the Barcelona kit sponsor deal.

As Mundo Deportivo reports, the new Barcelona Qatar Airways sponsorship deal was agreed, but not yet signed by the current board. The new Barcelona board will have to confirm or dismiss the sponsor deal within the next two months.

Qatar Airways became the Barcelona shirt sponsor with the start of the 2013-14 season, following two years with non-profit Qatar Foundation and several more with Unicef on the front of the Barcelona shirts. Under the current contract, Qatar Airways has paid 30, 32 and 33.5 million euros in the last three seasons, while the 2014-15 Champions League win ensured a bonus of five million.
