Manchester United to Play Last Match in Nike Kits - Has Nike Any Special Plans?

Pretty soon it's all history. Manchester United's last pre-season friendly against Paris Saint-Germain will be their last match wearing the famous Swoosh, and marks the beginning of a new era for the Premier League club.

Nike ended Manchester United kit deal after 13 years. One year ago, the American sportswear company announced that "the terms that were on offer for a renewed contract did not represent good value for Nike's shareholders".

In may 2014, Nike revealed a spectacular commemorative Arsenal Kit to mark the end of an era.

Manchester United will meet PSG at Soldier Field in Chicago at 20:00 CT (02:00 BST on Thursday). It's expected that Manchester United will enter the pitch wearing the Nike 14-15 Home Shirt, while PSG will likely wear the clean Paris Saint-Germain 15-16 Away Shirt.

It will be quite interesting to see how Nike will celebrate the 13-year partnership between the Swoosh and Manchester United. One year ago, Nike revealed a unique Arsenal Kit to mark the 20-years partnership combining iconic shirts of the last 20 years.

Manchester United's existing Nike deal is worth £24m a year, while the record-breaking Adidas kit deal is worth £75m a year.

It's an open secret that Adidas will launch the new Manchester United Home Kit on August 1, and there has been likely no other kit that has been leaked more often. The first Adidas Manchester United 15-16 Home and Away Kits are traditional, while the Manchester United 15-16 Third Kit boasts striking board shorts.
