Pray For Peace: Hummel V-Varen Nagasaki 70th Anniversary of Nagasaki Bombing Kits Released
It's 70 years ago since the atomic bombing took place in Nagasaki City, Japan. To remember the 70-years anniversary of the atomic bombing, Hummel released a special V-Varen Nagasaki Jersey featuring a stunning design with various unique elements to remember the importance of peace.
On August 9 1945, the US forces dropped an atomic bomb during World War Two in the Japanese city of Nagasaki, and at least 70,000 people died in the attack. However, 70 % of Japanese people doesn’t know the exact date. Therefore, Hummel and V-Varen Nagasaki revealed a special jersey in remembrance of 9th of August, 1945.

The front of the new V-Varen Nagasaki Kit boasts the pray statue in Nagasaki made by sculptor Seibo Kitamura to arouse the threat of the atomic bomb and the significance of peace. The statue symbolizes God’s love and Buddha’s mercy. The right hand symbolizes the threat of the atomic bomb, the left hand peace, the right leg the silence of Nagasaki City immediately after atomic bombing of Nagasaki and the left leg the lives that were saved.
Head coach Takuya Takagi who played for the football club in Hiroshima commented: ”The peaceful pray statue in Nagasaki and the folded paper crane are part of the design of this jersey. We can feel Nagasaki from these points. Playing in this jersey at the two matches is very significant. Especially the match on the 8th of August which is the day before the atomic bombing of Nagasaki. We would like to face the match with the mind of pray for peace and convey the preciousness of peace to new generations.”
V-Varen Nagasaki also released a striking pink and yellow "Pray for Peace" Goalkeeper Kit to complement the unique collection.

Community-owned Southern League Premier South club Bath City FC have announced a fan vote to decide their new home shirt for the 2026-27 season. The club revealed two different design options for supporters to choose from, continuing their tradition of involving fans in key club decisions.
True to the club's traditional colors, both concepts feature variations of their classic black and white stripes. Fans have been invited to cast their votes in the comments section of the club's official social media post to determine which design will be worn by the Romans next season.
