Next-Gen Adidas Ace Primeknit 2016 Boots Released
The Solar Green Adidas Ace Primeknit 2016 Soccer Cleats introduce a bold design for the second generation of the Adidas Ace Primeknit Boots, released on January 25, 2016, and headlined by Real Madrid's James Rodriguez.
In January 2016, Adidas is already revealing the second generation of the Adidas Ace Football Shoes. And while the first generation of the Adidas Ace Boots was launched with just two different versions, the second-gen Adidas Ace Football Boots will be available in four different top-tier editions (synthetic Adidas Ace 16.1, leather Adidas Ace 16.1, Adidas Ace 16+ Primeknit, Adidas Ace PureControl).
Adidas Ace 16+ Primeknit Solar Green / Shock Pink / Core Black
This is the first colorway of the Adidas Ace 16+ Primeknit Boots.
Combining the main color Solar Green with contrasting black and Shock Pink brandings, the launch colorway of the Adidas Ace 2016 Primeknit Cleats is designed to make a bold statement. Compared to the previous generation of the Adidas Ace Boots, the next-gen Adidas Ace Primeknit Boot features a much more remarkable design that is dominated by the bold Three Stripes on the upper.
The inner sole of the Solar Green Adidas Ace 2016 Primeknit Boot is black with flashy Shock Pink brandings, while the sole plate is mainly green with transparent studs that feature pink details.
The next-gen Adidas Ace 2016 Primeknit Boots have an one-piece knitted upper that is combined with a high-ankle collar and a tongue-less design for ultimate comfort and ball control. The techfit collar that wraps around the ankle is slightly higher than the collar used for the first generation of the silo.
The Adidas Ace 16+ Primeknit Boot features a wide fit for increased comfort and a totally new outsole that has nothing in common with the AG /FG Hybrid sole plate introduced for the first-gen Adidas Ace. The all-new sole plate of the next-gen Adidas Ace 2016 Primeknit comes with a traditional stud configuration. Interestingly, whereas the synthetic version of the next-gen Adidas Ace Boots also introduces an external heel counter, the knitted Primeknit version comes without the element that is made for more stability.
Retailing at the same price as the first-gen Adidas Ace Primeknit Boots (250 USD, 250 Euro, 185 GBP), the next-gen Adidas Ace 16+ Primeknit Boot will be launched in early January 2016 and will be available at selected retailers from February 1.
"We're the leaders in football innovation for a reason and that's easy to see in the Ace 16.1 Primeknit. We've created a boot unlike anything else on the market, a boot that offers unrivalled comfort, support and a new expression of the adidas design DNA," said Sam Handy, Vice President of Design for adidas Football.

Initially, reports from kit insider @Formaholic indicated that the club had advanced the presentation to June 25. However, recent updates suggest that the launch will likely revert to its original July timeframe.
The delay is reportedly due to logistical issues, specifically concerning the readiness of the new kit fonts and the club's desire to have players participate in the launch event. The new typeface is expected to be similar to the one featured on a recent special Leroy Sane kit.

The reasons for the switch are not known.
Official match kit graphics confirm the switch, showing the Brazil goalkeeper in a dark green jersey, paired with matching dark green shorts and socks.
