Next-Gen Adidas Ace 16.1 2016 Boots Released

Introducing the second generation of the Adidas Ace. The next-gen Adidas Ace 2016 Football Boots bring a totally new design for Adidas' Control Boot. Released on January 25, 2016, the all-new Adidas Ace 16.1 Soccer Cleats are designed to make a bold statement on the pitch.

In May 2015, the first prototype of the Adidas Ace 16.1 Soccer Boots was leaked. The blackout next-gen Adidas Ace 2016 Prototype Boots already gave us an early look at the next-gen Adidas Ace Boots although Adidas has made a few changes to the design for the final version.

Adidas Ace 16.1 Solar Green / Shock Pink / Black

This is the next-gen Adidas Ace 2016 Soccer Boot.

The Adidas Ace 16.1 Football Boots boast a bold design. The upper of the Adidas Ace 2016 Cleats features big Three Stripes, which remind us of the iconic design of the Adidas Predator Accelerator 1998 World Cup Boots, which were worn by such famous players as Zinédine Zidane.

The launch colorway of the next-gen Adidas Ace 2016 Soccer Cleats combines the flashy colors Solar Green and Shock Pink to stand out. The Adidas Ace 16.1 Boot is mainly Solar Green, while the Three Stripes combine the colors Shock Pink and Black with a remarkable gradient graphic pattern.

The next-generation Adidas Ace 2016 Boots are designed for the player who enforces perfection, engineered to provide touch, feel and fit. But now let's get into the tech details.

The upper of the Adidas Ace 16.1 Boots features a three-layer engineered skin for perfect touch and control. Additionally, the upper of the all-new Adidas Ace 16.1 Cleats features an all-over 3D structure with a grip texture for even more control.

Built for perfect comfort and performance, the next-gen Adidas Ace 16.1 Boots have a wide build. Adidas also introduces a Nubuck-touch heel lining for increased comfort, while the die-cut EVA insole offers lightweight and even more comfort.

But Adidas did not only change the upper for the next-gen Adidas Ace 2016 Boots, there's also a brand-new sole plate for the Adidas Ace 16.1 Boots.

The outsole of the Adidas Ace 2016 Cleats ditches the second layer of conical studs seen in the first generation, and introduces a more traditional-yet-cutting-edge design. The re-designed lightweight AG / FG Hybrid sole plate comes with four conical studs in the heel area and seven studs in the forefoot area. The Adidas Ace 2016 Boots also feature a new external heel counter for more stability.

The Solar Green / Shock Pink / Black Next-Gen Adidas Ace 16.1 FG Boots retail at revised prices (210 Euro, 200 USD, 150 GBP) and are already available to pre-order as FG / AG and SG (Soft Ground) versions.

Extremely bold. What do you think of the next-gen Adidas Ace 2016 Boots? Let us know in the comments below.

T90-Inspired Nike Barclays WSL 26-27 Ball Released

Nike and the Women's Super League have officially revealed the official match ball for the 26-27 Barclays WSL and WSL2 seasons. Built on Nike's Control ball model, the design draws heavy inspiration from Nike's iconic Total 90 era, bringing a retro-infused visual identity to top-tier English women's football.

The design features vibrant multi-coloured rings and graphic lines in red, pink, blue, and black against a white base. These accents are arranged to create a subtle strobe effect when spinning in flight, aiding visibility for players on the pitch. The Barclays WSL version features a gold Nike Swoosh inside the signature circular ring, while the WSL2 edition showcases a silver Swoosh paired with bright pink detailing.

Underneath the graphics, the ball utilizes Nike Control technology with debossed grooves and engineered paneling designed to deliver stable aerodynamics and consistent touch in all conditions. The new ball will be used across all 26-27 WSL, WSL2, and domestic cup matches.

Outstanding CP Cacereño 26-27 Home & Away Kits Released

Spanish club CP Cacereño and new kit supplier Hummel have officially unveiled the team's new home and away kits for the 26-27 season. Marking the beginning of their technical partnership, Hummel has created two distinct custom designs heavily inspired by local culture and mythology.

The CP Cacereño 26-27 home kit features a rich green base dominated by an intricate graphic depicting dragon scales across the front panel. The design links directly to the club's release slogan, "No soy un futbolista, soy un dragón". White detailing is applied to the classic collar, sleeve cuffs, Hummel chevrons, and sponsor logos to complete the jersey.

The 26-27 away kit presents a half-and-half split layout featuring a white base paired with an orange front panel. The bottom portion of the shirt highlights a graphic illustration of the historic fortress walls of Cáceres alongside dragon tail motifs, finished with fine black detailing along the V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs.

Lazio End Polymarket Shirt Sponsorship Deal After Italian Regulatory Block

SS Lazio's front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with prediction market platform Polymarket has come to an abrupt end just months after being announced. The multi-year agreement, signed in April 2026 and valued at over 20 million euros, faced immediate trouble following regulatory action in Italy. The Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) placed Polymarket on its blacklist, classifying the platform as an unlicensed gambling operator and blocking domain access nationwide.

Following the ban, Lazio removed all Polymarket branding from their official website, club store, and team kits. The Biancocelesti took the field with blank kit fronts during their recent 26-27 pre-season friendly against Avellino. This rapid disappearance comes shortly after the club had finally resolved a three-year shirt sponsor drought that dated back to the end of the 22-23 season.

Reports indicate that Lazio and Polymarket are now negotiating an economic resolution to terminate the partnership. A financial settlement will allow the club to clear any contractual obligations and seek a replacement main sponsor before the 26-27 Serie A season kicks off.
