The Adidas Real Madrid 2016-2017 away kit boasts the club's most traditional away shirt color in purple, re-imagined in a modern, urban way. Accents in white complete the timeless look of the Real Madrid away shirt which was released on July 14, 2016.

This is the the new Adidas Real Madrid away jersey.

Just like all Adidas 16-17 away kits for the big clubs, the Real Madrid 2016-17 away shirt sees the brand's Three Stripes positioned in the shoulder area. Whereas traditional Real Madrid away kits used a more pale, dark purple, the new Real Madrid away kit comes in a bold hue, designed "to bring a fresh urban look to the Real Madrid collection."

Other than that, the Real Madrid 16-17 away kit is kept simplistic and features modern ribbed crew-neck collar. Purple shorts and socks complement the Real Madrid 16-17 away shirt to form an all-purple change kit for Los Blancos.

The last Real Madrid kit to be predominantly purple was the 2010-11 Real Madrid away kit, while the color is, together with blue and black, one of the most common used away kit color in club history. The Real Madrid 06-07 away jersey was the last primary alternative kit to be purple.
