Jako Bayer Leverkusen 16-17 Home Kit Released

Update: Bayer Leverkusen today announced a new sponsorship deal with German insurance company 'Barmenia'. The 'Barmenia Versicherungen' logo will be on Bayer 04's kit until at least 2020.

“We are very pleased to be working over the long term with Barmenia, a renowned and reliable main sponsor,” declared a happy Michael Schade. “Both Bayer 04 and Barmenia, as one of the leading, independent insurance companies in Germany, stand for integrity, reliability and great ambition in their respective fields. I can hardly imagine a better combination given the company with its headquarters in Wuppertal is based in our catchment area. That fits in perfectly. We are now looking forward to activating this close partnership. Our players will proudly wear the name 'Barmenia Versicherungen' on their shirts for the next few years,” promised Schade.

The new Bayer Leverkusen 2016-2017 Home Jersey is made for the first time by Jako. Bayer Leverkusen's 16-17 Home Kit was released together with the announcement of the kit deal.

Bayer Leverkusen and Jako today officially announced their partnership after it was already rumored one month ago that the small German brand would replace Adidas as Bayer's kit supplier from the 2016-17 season. The new Jako Bayer Leverkusen was signed for at least two seasons with an option for a further year. While no financial details were disclosed today, BILD already reported one month ago that the kit deal is worth in the region of €2.2 million.

"For us, the sponsorship deal with JAKO is the logical consequence of a detailed market analyzes," said Bayer 04 managing director Michael Schade. "We have not only chosen the most lucrative option, but also what brings us the most superb service. The new top line of JAKO has a quality of which our players were excited spontaneously. But the most important thing: We are for JAKO the clear number 1 among their partners - and that you have felt from the first moment." The fans will benefit of this flexibility and creativity in the future as they will be included in the design process of various merchandise items per vote. Schade: "With our new partner you can really implement requests - quickly and in top quality."

Bayer Leverkusen 2016-2017 Home Jersey

This is the new Bayer 04 Leverkusen 16-17 Home Shirt.

The new Bayer 04 Leverkusen 16-17 Home Kit is all-black. After last season's home jersey featured a brand-new hoops design, the new Bayer Leverkusen 2016-2017 Home Strip comes with a unique lines color gradient design on the chest area that represents the eleven players of the 'Werkself' (that translates to 'Factory team'). It features a unique constructed collar and Jako's trademark branding on the sleeves.

On the back under the collar of the new Bayer Leverkusen 16-17 Kit is the lettering Werkself. Interestingly, the numbers and font of the new Bayer Leverkusen 2016-2017 Kit boast the same typeface as the one used for the original club crest.

Black shorts and socks are set to complete the new Bayer Leverkusen kit for the 2016-17 season.
