Under Armour Targets Thomas Müller
According to reports in Germany, Bayern Munich's Thomas Müller is one of Under Armour's prime targets for the brand's expansion into football.
Müller to Join Under Armour?
Thomas Müller is currently sporting the leather Adidas X 15.1, but will we see him in Under Armour blackout soon?
Thomas Müller, currently under contract at Adidas until 2018, would join the likes of Memphis Depay (Manchester United) and Granit Xhaka (Borussia Mönchengladbach) who signed for the up-and-coming US brand in the last 12 months.
The report goes on to state that Müller already has an extension offer from Adidas on the table, but did not yet accept it. Although the story might just be a way to put pressure on Adidas during contract talks, but it nonetheless shows Under Armour's ambition.
Under Armour declined to comment on the story. "Under Armour won't comment on future commitments in football at this time," a company spokesperson told Sport Bild.
No matter whether Müller will agree to join forces with Under Armour or not, it's safe to expect big announcements from a brand that aims to disrupt the football market in the same way it already did successfully in other sports.
