Nike last week revealed the new AS Roma kit for the 2018-19 season. We take a look at the inspiration of the new AS Roma shirt.

Ancient Roman Chainmail Armor Forms Graphic Base Of AS Roma 18-19 Kit

A bespoke design, the new Nike AS Roma home kit features a subtle design occupying the the front in a deep red color that gives the impression of ancient Roman chainmail armor. In fact, the graphic design is more or less directly taken from the Lorica Hamata, the chainmail armor worn by soldiers in ancient Rome.

Apart from the graphic design on the front, AS Roma's kit is similar to all other Nike jerseys of the 2018-2019 season that are based on the new Nike 2018 World Cup Vaporknit jersey template. It features a knit sped graphic pattern on the sleeves and a modern cut.
