Iceland Effect: Grimsby Forced to Move Back Launch of New Errea Kit

Grimsby Town of League Two in England today released a statement regarding the launch of its new 2018-2019 kit.

Grimsby 17-18 home kit

The Grimsby Town jerseys have been produced by Errea for 10 years and the 2018-19 kit was set to launch on 2 June. However, due to Errea's own factories in Europe being at full capacity to manufacture Iceland's World Cup shirts, which are in high demand around the world, and the company's unwillingness to outsource, it was been delayed for the moment.

Excerpts from the Errea statement on the matter - read it in full here.

"This year, we have seen a massive increase in demand for our clothing and in particular for custom made garments, thanks in part to the participation of Iceland in the upcoming World Cup Finals. This increase has meant that, since the start of the year, demand for our clothing has continually exceeded the production capacity of our factories."

"Ultimately, this means that we will not be able to deliver the quantity of garments required for the scheduled kit launch date of 2nd June and so the Club has decided to temporarily postpone."
