Germany to Loose 2014 World Cup Winners Badge
Just a few hours after Germany won the 2014 World Cup, Adidas released a special Germany 2014 World Cup champions kit featuring the golden 2014 World Cup inners badge. On Sunday evening after the 2018 World Cup final, the German national team will have to remove the 2014 World Cup winners badge from their jersey.
The 2014 World Cup winners badge featured on all Germany kits since 2014, e.g. on the Germany 2016 Euro kit and on the Germany 2017 Confed Cup jersey.
Former FIFA President Blatter awarded the German national team and its coaching staff the FIFA World Champions Badge in Berlin in November 2014.
"The Badge is a wonderful honour but at the same time I view it as an incentive and an obligation not to ease off,” said Germany coach Low in 2014.
FIFA first awarded the World Champions Badge to Italy in 2006. It was since then awarded to Spain in 2010 and to Germany in 2014. No team managed to defend their World Cup badge yet.
