Girona today announced its brand-new 2018-2019 home kit, which is made by Umbro and features Marathon Bet as main sponsor for the first time. A revolutionary change to the club's traditional look, the Girona 18-19 home shirt features diagonal stripes.

A first in club history, the Girona 18-19 home kit features diagonal striping in place of the traditional vertical red and white stripes. The club explained that this change was made in order to differentiate itself from other La Liga clubs after a Girona study found 65% of teams in La Liga wore stripes, compared to just 34% across Europe.
The fresh new look of the Girona 2018-2019 home jersey is "modern, dynamic and groundbreaking," transmitting the image of a modern club, as per the official club statement.
'Orgull Gironí' (Girona Pride), the slogan that featured on the front of last season's jerseys, takes a more subtle role on the 2018-2019 uniform: it's placed on the upper back just below the neckline.
Another big change comes in the form of shorts and socks, which are both red in place of the black used last year.
