World Premiere: Unreleased Nike Phantom Venom Boots Spotted in Liga MX

The Nike Phantom Venom will replace the Hypervenom in early 2019. Now, a blackout pair of the boots were spotted on the feet of a player ahead of a Club America vs Atlas U20 game. Thanks to abcdefutbol for the picture.

Player number 298 of America appears to have been chosen by Nike as one of the first athletes to give the new boots an on-pitch playtest.

The Nike Phantom Venom cleats will replace the Hypervenom and have been likened to the Total 90, a popular Nike model that itself was killed to make place for the Hypervenom back in 2013. They have a low-profile silhouette and feature a striking zone on the instep, similar to old T90s.

From the pictures, the sole plate looks to be more or less the same as on the current Hypervenom 3.

Pending a major surprise, the Nike Phantom Venom boots will debut in January or February 2019 as part of the Swoosh's first major collection of the year, in an orange-and-silver colorway.
