Bayern München Presents Allianz Arena in All-New Bayern Look
Last year, FC Bayern Munich announced that they will facelift the Allianz Arena to be a 'real Bayern stadium'. Now the club has finished the revamp of the stadium ahead of today's evening match against Manchester United.
Old Allianz Arena
The Allianz Arena opened in 2006. It had been the home stadium for both Munich clubs 1860 Munich and Bayern Munich until 2017 when 1860 München decided to leave the Allianz Arena in favor of their traditional and the fans' favorite home stadium, the Grünwalder Stadion.
The stadium now features red seats in the middle tier, the FCB logo in the north, "Mia-san-Mia" lettering in the west stand and "FC Bayern München" spelled out in the east stand, plus a colourful redesign of the promenades and cascade stairways in the club’s famous red.
But that's not all. Numerous fans redesigned six of the Arena’s kiosks with images from the club's history. In addition, reusable drinks containers will be in use from Sunday, a smoking ban takes effect in the stands and the Arena Card becomes the sole method of payment in the bistro.
