Update: Journalist Joan Vehils (@jvehils) of Barcelona-based newspaper Sport shared a picture of the FC Barcelona 19-20 Senyera fourth kit "that would confirm the leak". However, while the information of Sport about the kit is still accurate, the kit on the picture is a fake.

Barcelona-based sports news outlet Sport reveals in today's newspaper what they call a 'Bomba' - FC Barcelona will have four jerseys in one season for the first time.

Barça will wear the new Senyera fourth kit exclusively in big occasions, including the away matches against Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabéu. The decision of the board of Barça was taken long before the two consecutive victories that Valverde's team achieved two weeks ago in the Bernabéu.

Inspired by the Catalan flag, the 'Senyera', the new Nike FC Barcelona 2019-20 fourth kit boasts a unique design in yellow, red and navy. Unlike traditional Senyera kits of the past, it does not feature the classic vertical stripes but comes with four extraordinary looking four red stripes.

In fact, the four red stripes represent a legendary image of Catalonia: that of Guifré el Pilós, considered the founder of Catalonia, passing over a golden shield his four fingers bloody after a battle, this being the inspiration for the Catalan flag.

Barcelona last had a Senyera kit in 2014 - it back then featured a traditional stripes design.

The Nike FC Barcelona 2019-2020 Senyera 4th kit is expected to be launched in late 2019.
