Puma To Become La Liga Ball Maker
After 23 years, Nike is set to be replaced as ball supplier of the Spanish La Liga - Puma is reported to become the league's ball maker from the 2019-2020 season.
Nike became La Liga's Official Ball Supplier ahead of the 1996-97 season. In July 2016, La Liga announced the extension of Nike's sponsorship and signed a new contract until June 30, 2019.
Puma currently makes the ball for no big league.
Puma To Make Spanish La Liga Ball From 2019-2020
According to different Spanish newspapers, La Liga has reached an agreement with German brand Puma to make the La Liga ball from the 2019-2020 season for three years until 2021-2022.
One reason for ending the deal with Nike would be that the managers of the Spanish football association were not very satisfied because the championship ball resembled those of other leagues, such as the Premier League, which also uses a Nike ball. With Puma, they believe that they will have a a more exclusive and recognizable ball.
Some weeks ago, Spanish media already reported that La Liga contacted Derbystar, partner of the Bundesliga, and with Uhlsport, sponsor of Ligue 1, about a possible deal. In February 2019, Kelme and Puma entered the race for the deal - in the end, Puma was the brand who won the battle.

LEAKED: Adidas to Upgrade Leeds United to Local Elite Tier
As spotted by @theadelites, a new customisation option on the Leeds United club shop website allows fans to chosse between replica and authentic kits (added by error too early). This probably means that Adidas has upgraded the club from the B Premium tier to one of the Local A Elite tiers. The move gives fans the option to select authentic kits built around advanced Climacool+ performance technology.
Reports from February indicated similar upgrades for clubs including Ajax and Lyon ahead of the 2026-27 season, but Adidas apparently postponed/scrapped these. Adidas previously already upgraded British teams Celtic, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United.
