Nike 2019-20 Authentic vs Replica Kits

The 2018-2019 season is finished in all big European leagues, while the 2019-2020 season in the biggest leagues will not kick off before early August 2019. Nike has nevertheless already released most of their 2019-2020 kits. They give us the chance to compare the Nike 2019-2020 authentic and replica soccer jersey versions.

Nike 2019-20 Authentic vs Replica Kits

Just like before, the 2019-2020 authentic Nike kits are those worn by the players (Player Issue), the replica Nike kits designed for the supporters while still featuring materials made for sport. The authentic Nike kits are officially called 'Vapor Match' jerseys.

Design

Design-wise, the Nike authentic and replica jerseys are extremely similar. The biggest differences are the way the crest is applied to the jerseys (heat printed vs stitched), the positioning of the 'pride logo' that can be found inside the collar and the label on the bottom left (authentic - gold, replica - silver).

First Time in 12 Years: Juventus Bring Back Long-Sleeved Kits on Pitch

Making his Juventus debut in the match against AC Milan, Nick Woltemade was the only Juventus player on the pitch wearing long sleeves. Excluding special-edition kits, the German strike became the first Bianconeri player made this choice since Andrea Pirlo and Claudio Marchisio back in the 13-14 season.

Remarkably, even Cristiano Ronaldo, a long-sleeve icon, never wore one during his time in Turin.

Liverpool Could Use a Text-Only Turkish Airlines Sponsor?

Liverpool have announced that Turkish Airlines will become the club's new shirt sponsor from the 2027-28 season, ending the Reds' 17-year partnership with Standard Chartered.

While early fan concepts have used Turkish Airlines' familiar circular bird logo above the wordmark, a text-only sponsor could also be a realistic option.

The airline previously used a simplified two-line “TURKISH AIRLINES” wordmark on River Plate's shirts between 2019 and 2022, while Turkish clubs such as Galatasaray and Samsunspor have also used streamlined typographic versions of the branding.

A text-only layout could give Liverpool's future Adidas shirts a cleaner, less crowded look. The final sponsor application has yet to be confirmed, with the partnership set to begin in June 2027.
