No More Nike?! Adidas To Sign Boca Juniors Kit Deal

Rumors from Argentina suggest that Adidas is set to replace Nike as kit supplier of Boca Juniors in what would be shocking deal in the world of football.

Argentinian soccer giants Boca Juniors' 23-year relationship with US sportswear brand Nike will expire in December 2019. In January 2019, it was reported that Nike's Boca partnership is in danger of coming to an end. Argentinian newspaper Olé suggested that initial negotiations have not been straightforward.

Adidas currently has a partnership with Boca’s arch-rival River Plate. They already supplied Boca’s kits between 1979 and 1993.

According to journalist @JulioPavoni, "Adidas would sign a million-dollar contract with Boca, which would be about 16M U$S per year. This would be a record for football in South America and three times more than Nike is paying for Boca currently.

Adidas Presents Boca Possible Boca Juniors 2020 Kit

According to journalist @claudiociviello, Adidas also presented what would be the club's 2020 home jersey if they would sign the Adidas deal at the negotiating table. The Boca Juniors kit Adidas presented would be very similar to the 1981 kit.

In 2015, Adidas and River Plate signed an agreement until 2021, which is reported to be worth a total of US$60 million, or US$10 million a year.
