Adidas From 2020?! Boca Juniors Wants Nike To Make Decision About Kit Deal

Update #2: Argentinian newspaper El Clarín revealed more details about the proposal made by Adidas for Boca Juniors. Adidas' offer for Boca Juniors is not only financially bigger than what Nike paid, the proposal also offers greater international projection to the club than is currently made by Nike.

In addition to the ten million dollars per season, the offer includes bonuses for sports goals achieved, sales royalties in the country and abroad and exclusive clothing for the male and female team, in addition to a greater international projection of the club in stores of the brand in international territory.

Nike Can Still Match Adidas' Boca Juniors Offer In Last Minute

A source of the club that was contacted by the Argentine newspaper, however, bets that until the last minute Nike should cover the proposal, since he said the club is "strategic for the brand in Argentina" and is the "main club of the supplier in South America" and give up Boca, would deliver on a plate to its main competitor an important market on the continent.

On the other hand, Fernando Colombo, marketing director of Adidas Argentina avoided giving details about the proposal in an interview given to TNT Sports channel.

"I can't comment on this at the moment, there's been talk for a long time, there are many rumors and you have to be cautious," explained the director of the three stripes, confirming that at least there is interest.

The details of the proposals received will be presented and - according to their approval - Nike will then be informed of the decision to execute or not its contractual clause to match it. If they don't do it in 30 days, Boca will change clothes after 23 years.

Update: According to Boca Juniors member Mariano Volpini, Adidas has made an offer of 10m USD ($10,000,000) to dress Boca Juniors. The contract will be discussed next month at the assembly. Nike still has a chance to match the offer and continue to make the jerseys for the club.
