The 2018-2019 season is almost over everywhere in Europe, and the race for the title is also over in all of the important European leagues - now Turkish football kit illustrator @formamerkezhas created an infographic with the kits of the champions of the 15 biggest leagues in Europe.

2018-2019 League Champions Kits

The infographic reveals that Nike has been most successful in the 2018-2019 season with nine teams wearing kits from the Swoosh and winning the title. They Nike league champions include giants Manchester City, PSG and Barcelona but also smaller teams like KRC Genk from Belgium and Young Boys from Switzerland. Adidas comes second with five teams, while only Greek teams PAOK is wearing jerseys that are not from Adidas or Nike (Macon).

In the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League, however, there is a big chance that New Balance will win their first big European trophy as Liverpool is in the final against Nike-sponsored Spurs. The Europa League will be either won by a Puma or Nike team (Arsenal / Chelsea).

In overall, European leagues are not nearly as heavily dominated by Adidas or Nike. While it is no surprise that Nike (18%) and Adidas (16%) have the largest market share, Joma (10%) and Macron (9%) follow next no too far behind according to an official UEFA study.

Are your surprised that Nike is as dominant in the biggest European leagues? What do you think of the fact that only one PAOK is not wearing kits from one of the two big brands? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
