Meyba Brings Back Iconic 1980s and 90s Shirts for Atlético, Barcelona, Betis and More
Iconic Barcelona-based brand Meyba, who used to sponsor the Blaugrana as well as other big teams such as Atlético Madrid back in the 1980s and early 90s, has re-released some of its most iconic past designs.
Meyba had started out as a swim and leisure wear and company in Barcelona in 1940s but only reached fame beyond Spain when it signed a long-term kit deal with Barcelona in 1981.
Barca famously won its first major international trophy, the 1992 Champions League, wearing Meyba. Barcelona would switch to Kappa and shortly after Nike as Meyba returned to obscurity.
The brand is very proud of its footballing past however, and included in the Meyba 'Football Archive' collection are iconic shirts of Atlético, Barcelona, Betis, Cadiz and Espanyol, with the FC Barcelona portion of course being the largest one. The orange shirts worn in the '92 Wembley final is available as are several other key shirts used by the club during the Meyba years as well as select training and lifestyle items.
