A bizarre equipment failure occurred during Saturday's Scottish Premiership clash between Celtic and Falkirk, as young Celtic right-back Colby Donovan saw his Nike Mercurial Vapor boot completely snap in half mid-match.

Following a heavy challenge with Falkirk forward Ben Parkinson, Donovan was forced off the pitch to replace his footwear. Close-up photos quickly circulated on social media, revealing that the soleplate and midfoot structure had fractured cleanly across the center, leaving the heel plate completely detached and dangling from the front half of the boot.

Luckily, Donovan escaped any foot or ankle injury from the incident and was able to swap into a fresh pair of boots to complete the match.

Originally launched in 2011, the original Predator adiPower marked a massive transition for the franchise by introducing a lightweight Sprintframe outsole and dropping the traditional fold-over tongue seen on legendary predecessors like the Mania and Powerswerve.
