Phantom VSN x Mercurial Hybrid - Nike Vapor Edge Super Bowl Cleats Released

Ahead of the yesterday's Super Bowl, Nike has revealed a new football cleat that looks not just an American football cleat but like a soccer boot. Introducing the Nike Vapor Edge, which has several key features of recent Nike soccer boots.

This Nike Vapor Edge cleat is packed with the brand’s latest technology for American Football players to perform at their highest level. Like the Nike Mercurial Vapor 360 soccer boots and the Nike Phantom VSN, the upper features a seamless one-piece design with its Flyknit to fit like a second skin wrapping 360 degrees around the foot.

It comes with a lace cover similar to the one of the Nike Phantom VSN. Instead of having a traditional lacing system, it comes with a "toggle Ghost lacing system".

According to Nike, "the design is a direct response to feedback from players who want a cleat that feels like a sock with spikes."

The Nike Vapor Edge provides instant propulsion, power transfer and responsiveness with its ultra-light, aerodynamic cleat sole thanks to its independent traction pods placed underneath portions of the wearer’s foot.
