The Air Max Shoe Inspiration Behind Every Nike 20-21 Third Kit (Except Liverpool)
In January 2020, we leaked that the Nike 2020-21 third kits will be inspired by iconic Nike Air Max sneakers - one shoe for each club. Today, after we have been able to leak every kit except Liverpool, we want to share what is the Air Max inspiration of each jersey (except Liverpool FC again). Sometimes it is easy, sometimes it is more difficult to see the links between the shoe and the kit.
Last season's (2019-2020) Nike third kits has 1990s-inspired designs which proofed to be very popular among fans and kit enthusiasts as well.
Chelsea
The Nike Chelsea 20-21 third kit is inspired by the Nike Air Max 180 - the red-and-blue colorway is a nod to a classic colorway. Nike will also release a Chelsea pre-match jersey with a pattern inspired by the sneaker's logo.
Liverpool
Liverpool's 2020-2021 third kit will be black with a checkers designs. Unfortunately it's now known which Air Max will inspire this one (yet).
Tottenham Hotspur
The Tottenham Hotspur 2020-21 third kit is inspired by the Air Max 95 - it comes with a subtle gradient design. Nike will also release a Spurs fourth kit of which the design is more or less directly taken from the Air Max 95.
Atletico Madrid
Atletico's 20-21 third kit is inspired by the Nike Air Max 2.
FC Barcelona
The pink Barcelona 20-21 third kit draws inspiration from the Nike Air Max 98 Tidal Wave.
Inter
The Internazionale 2020-2021 third jersey takes its design from the Italy-exclusive Air Max 97 Silver Bullet.
Roma
AS Roma's 20-21 third kit is inspired by the classic Air Max 'Safari' - it is black and orange with a white / black Safari design on both sides.
PSG
The PSG 20-21 third jersey is inspired by the Air Jordan 11 "Red Velvet".
Galatasaray
The Galatasaray 20-21 third kit is inspired by the Nike Air Max Tn "Ultra Tiger" with its trademark red-to-yellow gradient design.
RB Leipzig
Nike's new team to get a third kit is RB Leipzig, whose 2020-2021 third shirt is roughly inspired by the Air Max 98. In fact, there's a 'white / deep royal blue / total orange' colorway that's similar to Leipzig's 3rd jersey.

Cristiano Ronaldo debuted a special FIFA Legacy sleeve patch on his Portugal kit during the 2026 World Cup, marking his historic sixth tournament appearance from 2006 to 2026.
Cristiano's Legacy badge features his signature pose.
The Legacy patch is an exclusive FIFA honor introduced to recognize players who have been selected for five or more World Cup squads. Ronaldo becomes the fourth player to wear the badge at the 2026 tournament, joining an elite group that includes Lionel Messi and Luka Modric, who are also sporting the Legacy patch alongside their respective individual award badges.
Adidas Teases Predator 1994 to 2026 World Cup Connection
Adidas has officially teased a connection between the original 1994 Predator boot and the upcoming 2026 World Cup. In a recent social media update, the brand highlighted the legacy of the iconic Predator silo, which was initially launched for the 1994 tournament hosted in the USA.
With the 2026 World Cup set to be co-hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada, Adidas is celebrating this 32-year journey as a full-circle moment for the boot. The brand noted that the Predator was made for the 1994 World Cup, and the tournament made the boot a legend. By stating that the road to glory continues, Adidas strongly suggests the upcoming release of special edition boots or a dedicated 2026 World Cup Predator model that pays homage to the 1994 original.
The teaser was accompanied by images showcasing the evolution of the Predator boot from its debut to its modern iteration. This announcement builds on recent Predator re-releases and limited editions, generating anticipation for what Adidas has planned for the 2026 tournament.
FC Barcelona 26-27 Home Kit Spotted on Sale Early
The new FC Barcelona 2026-27 home kit has been spotted on sale early at a Nike Store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, well ahead of its official launch. Shared by kit expert @memorabilia1899/@mohmash_, the retail images showcase the physical version of the shirt, which features unique multi-shade red and blue stripes designed as a tribute to the renovated Camp Nou.
