Borussia Dortmund's kits will be not released at the end of the current season, it has been revealed by local newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten.
BVB 2020-21 Kits To Feature New Main Sponsor
The reason for BVB's 20-21 kits to be not released in May 2020 is simple - Borussia Dortmund will be playing in the Bundesliga next season with a new jersey sponsor (Internet provider "1&1"). Therefore the presentation of the new jersey on the last matchday of this season was not planned.
Additionally, everything will be different in this season's final due to the corona pandemic, which makes it harder for brands and clubs to schedule kit releases.
BVB Managing Director Carsten Cramer said in an interview with Ruhr Nachrichten: "The new jersey will definitely not be on display or for sale this season. It will also not be presented on the last matchday. We will do that in peace when we know when the new season starts. Right now it's all about somehow bringing the current season to a good end."
