Here Is What Really Inspired Puma's Borussia Dortmund 20-21 Home Kit
The Puma Borussia Dortmund 2020-2021 home kit introduces an eye-catching design that many reminds of the Pokemon Electabuzz. Many wondered what the inspiration for Puma - now the brand has explained in detail how they came up with the design.
Dortmund 20-21 Home Kit Is Inspired By Compass Of Westfalenhallen Station
The BVB 20-21 home kit draws inspiration by the legendary Westfalenhallen station. The gateway leads to the heart of Dortmund, the club's stadium. The Westfalenhallen underground station is a key landmark and is seen as the starting point for fans as they embark on their journey to the Signal Iduna stadium
"The specially crafted black graphic print pays homage to the station, taking elements of the architecture and integrating into the shirt design. The station is a key part of fan culture, with the illuminated compass found on the floor of the station a beloved feature. The compass has been reassembled and constructed onto the yellow base of the jersey to create an eye-catching and dynamic silhouette."
However, there is still a big resemblance to Electabuzz, intended or not.
The Puma Borussia Dortmund 2020-2021 home kit was released on July 1 2020.
The BVB 20-21 away kit draws inspiration from Dortmund's famous graffiti scene, while the third kit is inspired by the 'U' building in Dortmund.
