Nike Singapore 2020 Home & Away Kits Released - Feature Crest Instead Of National Flag

The Singapore national team returns to action this week, so the 2020 Singapore National Team jerseys were unveiled by the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and Nike today.

For the first time since the Singapore National Team redesigned its logo in 2003, the new Singapore 2020 home and away uniforms come with the Football Association of Singapore and not the national flag. "The change was made following fans’ feedback on the significance of the FA logo which symbolises the pride of Singapore’s football history and brings back a sense of nostalgia".

Singapore Nike 2020 Home Shirt

This is the Singapore 2020 home shirt, made by Nike.

The Nike Singapore 2020 home football shirt combines the country's classic red and white main colors.

To pay homage to the nation’s history, the Nike Singapore 2020 football shirt incorporated a contemporary take on the scales and curves of the iconic Merlion on the jersey front.

The national flag has also been given a modern interpretation through the symbolic crest on the red neck tape as well as the waveline graphic across the chest of the jerseys.

Red shorts and socks complete the new Nike Singapore 2020 kit.

Singapore Nike 2020 Away Shirt

This is the new Nike Singapore away football shirt for 2020.

The Nike Singapore 2020 away football shirt is deep royal blue. It "reflects Singapore’s vision as a forward-looking nation". The Away shirt is also a close depiction of the FAS corporate colours, synchronising the association’s identity with the national teams.

Singapore's new 2020 home and away uniforms retail at 115 Singapore Dollar (85 US Dollar).

Singapore legend and ex-captain Samad Allapitchay, who had worn the FA icon in his yesteryears, reminisces: “Seeing the FA logo on this new Singapore jersey brings back fond memories of when I wore the shirt to represent the nation since it has strong connections to what we had earlier on our old jerseys. There have been a number of high points in my playing career but nothing tops the excitement felt by the players when we put on the national jersey, especially when we have our fans cheering us on during home games.”
