Lyon Changes Adidas 21-22 Kits From Prototypes

Pictures of the Adidas Lyon 2021-2022 home and away kits were leaked. Both leaked jerseys have slightly different designs to the kits we leaked - this is because the club / Three Stripes changed the kits from the ones Adidas originally planned to give them.

Fans were not happy with many of Adidas' recent OL jerseys

Adidas presented the club their prospected designs around 18 months ago. However, as fans were not happy with many of Adidas' recent OL jerseys, the club and the Three Stripes changed the looks of the kits - the result is much accepted by fans it seems like.

Adidas Olympique Lyonnais 21-22 Home Kit - Prototype vs Final

For the home kit, Lyon and their fans got Adidas adding the all-time classic red and blue vertical stripe on the left chest. The original kit wanted by Adidas had pinstripes.

The red-blue side stripe is reminiscent of the jersey design worn in the most successful years of the club from the early to mid-2000s when Lyon won seven Ligue 1 titles in a row.

Adidas Olympique Lyonnais 21-22 Away Kit - Prototype vs Final

For the away kit, Lyon added a subtle camouflage pattern. The prototype Adidas presented to the club featured a very clean design without it.

We expect the new Adidas OL 21-22 jerseys to be released in May 2021.
