Top Stars Wear Custom-Made Long-Sleeve Kits In Euro 2020 - Why Griezmann & Havertz Do So

Update: With Griezmann and many other top players wearing long-sleeve jerseys, many people asked why they do so. In the case of Griezmann, it is because of Beckham (just as his shirt number 7 - he already revealed it in 2016). Some of the others like Havertz could have been inspired by Griezmann.

In fact, the German football federation (DFB) said that Kai Havertz and Leroy Sané "both would decide this (long-sleeved jersey) on a whim and that it was a personal preference". France's Antoine Griezmann "would also play with long-sleeved jerseys".

Interestingly, Cristiano Ronaldo only wore a long-sleeve jersey in the first half against Germany, while he reverted to a short-sleeve jersey for the second half.

All teams have played their first match of the UEFA Euro 2020. One of the things that kit aficionados such as Classic Football Shirts (thanks for pictures), Kit Crimes and Phil Delves liked the most was the "return" of long-sleeve jerseys.

Players Wear Long-Sleeve Kits In Euro 2020

In the first round of the UEFA Euro 2020, several of the world's best players wore traditional long-sleeve kits, including CR7 and Mbappé.

Interestingly, as spotted by Classic Football Shirts, Kylian Mbappé wore the long-sleeve shirt only in the second half against Germany.

Most players still seem to prefer undershirts, but it is remarkable that especially the top players wear traditional long-sleeve kits.

What is bad is that Adidas, Nike and Puma are not selling long-sleeve versions of the 2020-2021 national team jerseys.
