Arsenal Combines 21-22 Third Kit with Red Socks - Striking Mashup
Newly promoted Brentford kicked off the 30th season of the Premier League in style tonight against Arsenal. Arsenal lost the game 2-0 courtesy of goals from Canós and Nørgaard, but it was not the miserable performance that caught our eye.
The Gunners entered the pitch wearing the recently released Arsenal 2021-22 third shirt that combines a navy base with a turquoise graphic and white / red logos.
The first choice would be to pair the jersey with navy shorts and socks, but since Brentford, the home team, wore black socks Arsenal had to come up with another combination.
So the kitman ordered the team to wear navy / navy / red. It resulted in a very uncommon appearance to say the least.
Of course, this would have been easily preventable, but Arsenal prioritized to promote the new third shirt by wearing it in their first competitive match of the new season.
