FIFA Allow Uruguay To Keep Four Stars
Updated with the official statement of the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) on the four stars. They can keep them.
FIFA have officially informed Uruguay's kit supplier Puma that Uruguay can keep their four stars.
In August 2021, FIFA had ordered Puma to remove the two stars of the Olympic Games from the shield. Since then, the Uruguay Football Association have tried to convince FIFA that they can keep the four stars.
FIFA Inform Puma That Uruguay Are Allowed To Keep Four Stars
As reported by Uruguayan media, the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) received this Wednesday communication from the company Puma, in which it reports that FIFA informs it that the men's team shirt will continue to wear the four stars on the shield for their titles at the Olympic Games in 1924 and 1928 and in the 1930 and 1950 World Cups.
Uruguay's 2021 kits were not affected - the 2021 away kit did not feature stars because of the "innovative Puma design".
Uruguay's 2022 World Cup kit designs are apparently ready
The designs of the Uruguay 2022 World Cup kits were already settled in the end of August 2021 - what is now sure is that they will feature four stars.
