Girondins Bordeaux 140th Anniversary Third Kit Released

Updated with pictures from Bordeaux 1-1 draw with Nantes, in which the special-edition kit was debuted yesterday afternoon. We've also added pictures of the full kit as well as the collection items from the official club store.

As announced yesterday, Girondins Bordeaux just revealed their new special-edition 140th anniversary shirt.

Part of the a collection that also includes a track top and hoodie, the Adidas Bordeaux 2021-2022 third jersey is limited to just 1881 copies. It will be worn in tomorrow's derby against Nantes and will be available to buy on Sunday as well.

Girondins Bordeaux 21-22 Third (140th Anniversary) Kit

This is the Girondins Bordeaux 140th anniversary shirt, made by Adidas.

The Adidas Girondins Bordeaux anniversary jersey is predominantly burgundy with a gold 'V' across the chest, as well as a recolored club badge placed on the left chest. This crest is the club's traditional one, which was recently reinstated following the takeover by business Gerard Lopez.

The overall design is somewhat similar to the 2001-02 third kit, which celebrated Bordeaux's 120th anniversary and was also made by Adidas.

A downside of the new design is definitely the fact that the V was applied as a simple print and not a proper sublimation - this can be seen by the fact that it appears more reflective than the rest of the shirt as well as that it does not go up to the shoulder seams. This was first pointed out by kit expert @hendocfc on Twitter.

Shorts and socks in the same colors as the shirt complete the kit.

Limited to just 1881 copies, celebrating the club's founding year, the Bordeaux 2021-2022 third jersey is available to buy from Sunday, first at the stadium store (12PM) and later online (3PM). You can still buy it online here.

It will be worn in the Ligue 1 clash against Nantes in the afternoon.
