France Change Colors Of Flag

France have changed the blue color of the their flag to a navy one, according to reports from France.

The flag of France is a tricolor flag featuring three vertical bands colored blue (hoist side), white, and red. It is known to English speakers as the French Tricolor.

France Switches to Navy Blue On Flag

President Emmanuel Macron has switched to using a darker navy blue on the official French flag, replacing the previous brighter shade, officials have told local media.

In fact, dark navy is the traditional color used for the flag of France. The lighter blue version was introduced in 1976 by President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing to match the flag of the European Economic Community (which evolved into the European Union).

The change in flags has been not officially announced yet. No orders have been given for other institutions to do the same.

The flag of France has been featured on many of Nike's recent France kits, with the jerseys mostly using the lighter version of the flag.

It remains to be seen if the France 2022 World Cup kits will feature the French flag, and, if so, which colors the flag will have.
