Galatasaray Kit History - 1905 to 2020
Emre Gultekin recently has been working on a series of full kit histories for various teams, starting with his favorite Galatasaray.
The Turkish designer who works for Fanatics in London, has been working in the industry for more than ten years, with stints at different companies and in different sports. He started his professional work in the sportswear industry for Turkish brand Lescon Spor and more recently worked on Fanatics products for Dortmund and Germany. He's also created various popular kits as a freelancer, including the Kappa Aston Villa 19-20 third kit.
Galatasaray Kit History by Emre Gultekin
A series of sketches ranging what seems like an endless amount of home, away and third kits spanning more than a century, the kit history starts in 1905 and covers all years up until the 2019-20 season.
What's interesting here is that Galatasaray did not actually start out wearing their now-iconic halved shirts but instead wore a solid red top in the first couple of years.
It's a spectacular collection that only showcases the evolution of football kits in general and Galatasaray's in particular, but also Emre's illustration skills.
