It's Not Nike 18-19 AS Roma: What Inspired The Arsenal 22-23 Home Kit
The Adidas Arsenal 2022-23 home jersey boasts a remarkable collar design. Let's find out what inspired Adidas to create it.
Arsenal FC 22-23 Home Kit Inspired By 1994-96 Home Kit
The Adidas Arsenal 22-23 home football shirt is inspired by the club's kits of the 1990s and the Arsenal 94-96 home kit in particular. It not only has a classic Polo collar but also a lightning-bold zig-zag design.
Arsenal have had a few kits with a zig-zag design by Nike in the mid-1990s, including the now-iconic 1995-96 away kit.
The zig-zag is iconic for Arsenal kits
It is, however, the first time that there is a zig-zag design on the collar of an Arsenal kit. However, it is not the first time for a football kit to have a zig-zag design on the collar.
The AS Roma 2018-2019 home kit has a similar zig-zag pattern on the collar, but that was surely not Adidas' inspiration. It is likely just a coincidence certainly.
