Atlético Mineiro Wear Special "50% Complete" Kit
Atlético Mineiro wore a special half and half kit against Coritiba yesterday. The design was in reference to their new stadium, the MRV Arena, being 50% finished. Construction started in April 2020 and is expected to be completed in October 2022, with the stadium opening in 2023 when the club obtain the operation licence.

Below is the kit worn at the weekend.
The special shirt carries the club's traditional black and white stripes on one half while the other half is plain white. This design is present on the front and back of the jersey. It is essentially a combination of their home and away kits this season. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, not the worst result but not one to see the shirt remembered as iconic.

The shirts will not be made available for purchase, but the match worn kits will be donated to the Galo Institute, Atlético's charitable foundation. This unexpected shirt will be the penultimate effort from le Coq Sportif for Atlético Mineiro before Adidas take over this summer. There is still one final fan-designed shirt to be released before then.

Adidas Teases Predator 1994 to 2026 World Cup Connection
Adidas has officially teased a connection between the original 1994 Predator boot and the upcoming 2026 World Cup. In a recent social media update, the brand highlighted the legacy of the iconic Predator silo, which was initially launched for the 1994 tournament hosted in the USA.
With the 2026 World Cup set to be co-hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada, Adidas is celebrating this 32-year journey as a full-circle moment for the boot. The brand noted that the Predator was made for the 1994 World Cup, and the tournament made the boot a legend. By stating that the road to glory continues, Adidas strongly suggests the upcoming release of special edition boots or a dedicated 2026 World Cup Predator model that pays homage to the 1994 original.
The teaser was accompanied by images showcasing the evolution of the Predator boot from its debut to its modern iteration. This announcement builds on recent Predator re-releases and limited editions, generating anticipation for what Adidas has planned for the 2026 tournament.
