In the past years, the quality of 3D renders has become better and better. Now an image of the leaked FC Barcelona 2022-2023 home kit is doing the rounds online, and most think it is a real photo - but it is not.

The picture shows off the Barcelona 22-23 home kit inside the press room. It perfectly looks like a real photo but a very close look reveals it is none. Instead, it shows a render of eFootball/Pro Evolution Soccer kit maker @ivankitmaker.

ivankitmaker has recreated this photo based on the kit model of Konami's video game while adding a number of photo-realistic effects.

What is wrong is the Barcelona crest and the FCB lettering in particular. It is with Serif, while the actual is San Serif.

In fact, if you are familiar with 3D renders and especially with the video game PES/eFootball, there is a part of the kit that clearly confirms that it is a render. The transition from the collar to the shirt is sub-optimal.

ivankitmaker also created a mock-up of the leaked Manchester City 2022-23 home kit.
