Palace Produce Their Own Take on Inter 97-98 Third Shirt

London-based skate brand Palace have once again taken inspiration from the world of football for one of their upcoming releases, this time from one shirt in specific rather than the general aesthetic. That shirt is Inter's iconic grey and black striped third jersey from the 97-98 season.

Palace To Release Shirt Based on Classic Inter Kit

Palace are no strangers to football-themed pieces and this is the latest in their ever growing line. While previous jerseys from the brand used football elements like a loose fit, club-style badge and logo placement, this one seems to have lifted the visual design straight from the Inter shirt and transferred it to a cotton long sleeve polo shirt. From the only photos that have been released so far it doesn't look like it is made of polyester.

The immediately recognisable Pirelli font has been used for the Palace text across the chest, obviously complete with an elongated letter P. A football-style crest bearing the colours of the Italian flag is centrally placed just above it, with the word "campeones" stitched on the right side of the upper chest area. A black number 22 with a thin yellow outline is printed on the back with "Palazzo" above it in place of a player name.

Ronaldo is probably the main reason that the original shirt is so famous. He wore it as he tore Lazio apart in the 1998 Uefa Cup final, having also worn it throughout the season, scoring 25 Serie A goals and winning the Ballon d'Or on the way. Inter themselves reused the design for their 04-05 and 20-21 third kits, with Nike keeping the grey and black hoops, central crest placement and yellow details and applying them to their templates of the time.

Which version of the shirt is the best in your opinion? What do you make of Palace's take on the Inter classic?
