Lewandowski Gets No. 9 Barcelona Shirt
Update: Robert Lewandowski was just officially presented in front of a crowd of 57.300 fans at the Spotify Camp Nou. The Polish striker took to the pitch wearing FC Barcelona's 2022-2023 shirt with the number 9.
In other news, this also means that Memphis Depay currently has no shirt number assigned anymore, and an exit is looking more likely than ever before.

Lewandowski moved to Barcelona this transfer window for a reported fee of €45m + €5m in add-ons. The Polish international is set to lead Barcelona's attack next season as a true #9 in and around the penalty area.
However, it is now known yet if Robert Lewandowski will wear number 9 for FC Barcelona next season. Let us find out why.
It is expected Lewandowski will take the No. 9 shirt
Which Shirt Number Will Robert Lewandowski Wear For FC Barcelona?
Memphis Depay, who will only be the third choice next season and is desperately looking for game time before the World Cup, currently wears shirt number 9. Meanwhile, marquee signing Robert Lewandowski is eager to make a difference in a new league, and will definitely be the starting centre forward.
Depay wear No. 9 currently
On the wings there is also a lot of competition for Memphis Depay since FC Barcelona renewed with Ousmane Dembelé until 2024 and signed Raphinha from Leeds United. Additionally, Barça can count on Ansu Fati, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ferran Torres in attack. All in all, there is a lot of pressure on Memphis Depay in a World Cup year.
It is expected he will take the number nine shirt, currently worn by Memphis Depay, even if the Netherlands international fails to secure a transfer away.
On the other hand, Robert Lewandowski consistently wears shirt number 9 since the 2011-12 campaign when he still played for Borussia Dortmund. Before that, Robert Lewandowski wore numbers 7 and 8, but those two numbers are not vacant now.
Potential numbers that Lewandowski could receive in case Memphis Depay does not leave include 15, 16, 17, 27, 28, and 29.

In other news, Lewandowski's football shirt was already available to buy without a number. However, then Barcelona run out of the letter 'W'.
A fan attempted to purchase a shirt with the forward's name on the back but couldn't.
"Why can't we buy jerseys with Lewandowski?""Because we don't have the letter W and because he has two in his name, we have run out."
Martin Braithwaite is the only other Barcelona player with the letter 'W' in his name.

The energetic design is complemented by off-white Three Stripes on the shoulders, the classic Adidas Trefoil logo, an ornate heritage Bayern Munich crest, and cream sponsor detailing.

Arsenal talisman Bukayo Saka and Real Madrid signing Yan Diomande have both taken to the pitch wearing all-white New Balance Furon V9 boots at the start of the 26-27 campaign. Thanks to @volkyfootballboots.v2 for spotting.
As two of the primary headline athletes for New Balance's flagship speed silo, their synchronized switch away from standard on-pitch colorways to a whiteout look points toward an upcoming limited-edition pack or special release from the American brand in the near future.
It’s normal that brands hide their new flagship-shoes with a whiteout colorway until their release takes place officially, so competitors can’t already get an early glimpse into their newest design.
