Barca Midfielder Busquets and Basketball Star Şanlı Auction Jerseys to Help Earthquake Victims

Barcelona’s veteran Sergio Busquets is collaborating with the club’s basketball star Sertaç Şanlı to help earthquake victims.

Busquets and Şanlı to Sell Match-Worn Jerseys in an Auction

Busquets and Şanlı are going to sell their match-worn jerseys in an auction which profit will all go to the AHBAP charity program. The program’s purpose is to help the recent earthquake victims in Turkey in Syria which happened last Monday.

Being a Turkish international, Şanlı initiated the charity plan which certainly receive a positive response from Busquets. The Barca Basketball star announced the jersey auction plan on his social media accounts and from his postings, it looks like he will auction his Barcelona away basketball kit while Busquets set to sell his Blaugrana home jersey.

Both Busquets and Şanlı Wear Number 5

Being a veteran at Barca, Busquets’ number 5 jersey can be considered quite iconic as he has worn them since the 2014/15 season. The Spaniard has made more than 700 appearances for Barcelona, grabbing 19 goals in the process.

Meanwhile, Şanlı himself has also been wearing the number 5 for the Barca basketball team, making his collaboration with Busquets even more suitable. The 31-year-old joined the club in July 2021 and helped them win the Copa del Rey de Baloncesto in 2022.

At the moment, both Busquets and Sanli are only planning to sell their own jerseys in the auction and not add other Barca players' kits.

The recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria caught people’s attention and affection due to the number of victims and the destruction that happened. Aside from Sanli and Busquets, there are many other footballers who are trying to give their best possible assistance.

Meanwhile, Barcelona themselves have also initiated its own donation program to help victims of the earthquake via the club’s official foundation.
