Several prominent numbers, including the iconic number 7 previously worn by the likes of David Beckham, Eric Cantona, and Cristiano Ronaldo, are open for existing players or new signings to adopt - there are strong indicators that Garnacho will receive the number 7.

Alejandro Garnacho's current shirt number, 49, is missing from the drop-down menu on the club's official online store. This suggests that Garnacho will likely be awarded Manchester United's prestigious number seven shirt. Fans, therefore, cannot order a shirt with his current number.

Garnacho showed support for number 7 via a tweet shared by his brother Roberto. The tweet featured an edited image of the 18-year-old wearing a United shirt with the number seven on the back. In this tweet, a fan urged the club to give Garnacho the iconic No 7 jersey, which is currently unoccupied.

A day before the launch, Manchester United already reminded of the possibility of player number changes before the start of the season.
