Real Madrid Kit Launch Delayed by Player Departures

According to defensacentral.com, Real Madrid have had to postpone the release of their as a result of players leaving unexpectedly. Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio have all announced that they are leaving the club, with Benzema and Asensio's decisions coming as a shock to everyone, the club included.

As one of Madrid and Adidas' main men, Benzema would have been central to the promotional material for the new kit. Asensio is another Adidas athlete, and even though Hazard hardly played due to numerous injury setbacks during his spell at the club, he was still one of the most recognisable names in the squad.

All three players featured prominently in the ad campaigns for the new shirt, which were completed weeks ago, so Adidas and Real will have to do a reshoot with players who will actually be wearing the jersey next season. They had planned to launch the shirt ahead of their final game of the 22-23 season on Sunday, but these recent developments scuppered those plans.

Can you think of any occasions where players appeared in a kit launch and then moved clubs without playing in the new shirt? Let us know in the comments.
