The emergence of FC Barcelona’s young talent, Lamine Yamal, has taken center stage as he played a pivotal role in guiding his team to a remarkable comeback victory against Villarreal. He attracted attention by wearing shoes with the tag ID: "LY304".

This is not the first time Lamine Yamal has used the '304' notation. When he was a youth player at Barcelona, often makes a gesture with his hands that expresses the number "304". It is not just a random number, but has a special significance for him.
304 is the last digits of the postal number of his neighborhood, Rocafonda, in Mataró (08304). The player was born in Esplugas de Llobregat, but has grown up all his life in the aforementioned district.
In this way, the footballer remembers where he comes from and vindicates his neighborhood, a working class, humble area with a lot of prejudices around it. A nice gesture for his loved ones, by whom he is very dear, and so as not to forget where he comes from.
This gesture finds its roots in Yamal’s father, a vocal advocate for his son’s journey, often portraying his role as a defender of his area in his online presence, particularly on Instagram, where his username culminates in “304.” The elder Yamal consistently incorporates this number into his posts, exuding pride each time his son replicates the symbolic gesture.
In addition to this, Lamine also has the flag of mother's country, Equatorial Guinea, and that of his father, Morocco engraved on his shoes. His initials, "LY", are also on them.
Lamine never forgets where he came from. His father is a big lover of his hometown, so he is proud whenever Lamine flaunts the '304'.
