Atlético Madrid Remove Yellow Border For Return of Old Logo

Atletico Madrid, one of the most popular football clubs in Spain, return to their old logo for the 2024-2025 season. But there is a little change that went mainly unnoticed.

The club ditched the logo introduced for the 2017-2018 season as the club's members were not happy with it.

New Old Atlético Madrid Logo - Closer Look - No Yellow Border

The change sees the removal of the yellow border from the club's logo. This makes the logo more consistent, but it also changes the overall appearance of the logo. Yellow had never been used for Atletico's home kits, only for the club's logo and some yellow away kits in the mid-2010s.

No yellow makes it more consistent but results in a major visual change

The other colors of the logo have also been updated, being more saturated than before.

In the 2017-18 season, the first season of the now-discarded logo, Atletico had a yellow kit, and the logo looked incongruous with it.

The new Atletico Madrid logo without the yellow border will be used from July 1, 2024, to debut on the club's 24-25 kits.

Atletico Madrid Logo History Until 2024

We already leaked color information about the Atletico Madrid 2024-2025 home kit, which could feature much more blue than usual. Graphic designer KING-F-33 created a mock-up of the kit. Blue gradient stripes are very unlikely - the mock-up also gives an impression of how the new logo feels on the team's kits.
