British Teams Wear Poppy on 23-24 Kits

  • Poppy Shirts: Many British football teams wore poppy-adorned shirts last weekend to support the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.
  • 2023 Poppy Design: The 2023 British Legion Poppy is unique, featuring the year '2023' for the first time, whereas previous poppies had no year.
  • Kit Availability: Match-worn poppy kits will be auctioned, while standard kits with the 2023 poppy can be purchased.

Many British teams wore the poppy on their shirts last weekend, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Manchester City, Rangers and many others. Most teams wore the streamlined, dated poppy provided by the Royal British Legion, but some wore a slightly different poppy and/or added more detail. We also saw some different poppies in Scotland.

Many British football clubs will be supporting the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal 2023 by wearing poppy shirts to mark Remembrance Day this and next weekend.

All previous poppies came without a year

2023 British Legion Poppy Badge

The 2023 British Legion Poppy is different from previous years. For the first time, the poppy has a year - 2023. Previous poppies came without a year.

We already get a look at many of the 2023-2024 Poppy football kits. What is odd is that Liverpool released images on their website that show Virgil van Dijk wearing a different poppy, without the year. It remains to be seen which Poppy Liverpool will use in the match - the Women's have the dated Poppy.

The matchworn 2023-2024 Poppy football kits will be auctioned off at Match Worn Shirts, who have a dedicated site for the 2023 British Poppy Appeal.

If you can not afford the matchworn shirts or want to have the poppy on a standard kit, you can get the 2023 British Poppy via Subsidesports for just 4 GBP, who also offer the Poppy already attached to various 23-24 kits.

What do you think of the year added to the poppy? Let us know in the comments below.

Awesome: Leeds United 26-27 Home Kit Concept Based on Leaked Bayern München Away Kit

A stylish Leeds United home kit concept has caught the attention of fans online. Created by Leeds supporter and graphic designer @ZK1919, the concept directly adapts the design of an Adidas FC Bayern away kit, transforming it into a Leeds home shirt.

The concept features the classic Adidas Trefoil logo and integrates Leeds United's front-of-shirt sponsor, Red Bull. To match the club's traditional colors, the designer swapped the original red accents for yellow and outlined the Red Bull logo in blue. The concept also sparked discussions among supporters regarding the exact shade of yellow, the choice of the club badge, and the potential constraints of Red Bull's corporate branding rules on future kits.

While purely a fan-made design and not an official leak for the 2026-27 season, it highlights the potential of an Adidas Trefoil Leeds kit. The actual Leeds United 26-27 home kit has been very unpopular ahead of its release.
